HIDEOUT: a place to escape detection, especially when being chased by someone determined to have revenge ...
When Griffin Bing and his friends first met Luthor, he was a vicious attack dog working for the slimy S. Wendell Palomino—also known as Swindle. The kids rescued Luthor, and never thought they'd see Swindle again.
But now Swindle's returned. And he wants his dog back.
Swindle has manipulated the law so that there's no way for Savannah Drysdale to keep Luthor in her house. Before he can be taken away, they decide to make him disappear—away from Swindle.
Six kids. Three hideouts. One extremely large dog.
What could possibly go wrong?

Gr 4-7-Griffin Bing, The Man with the Plan" returns in the fifth adventure (Scholastic, 2013) in Korman's series. Griffin and his pals rescue Luthor, a big lovable dog, from a local villain known as Swindle, but now Swindle has conspired to take the dog back. Griffin and his friends hatch a plot to keep Luthor safe from Swindle by smuggling the huge animal into three different hiding places. Many hijinks ensue, none of which are very plausible, but all of which are hugely entertaining for listeners. Jonathan Todd Ross narrates, distinguishing different characters' voices with varied accents, intonation, and inflection. Listening to Ross unfold the story in his rich baritone is a treat. A worthy addition to school and public library collections.-Bernie Morrissey, The Harker School, San Jose, CA
