Herzog (Knit To Flatter) brings her combination of thorough analysis and encouraging guidance to her latest collection, which targets sweater-phobic knitters via a series of simple-yet-flattering vests, pullovers, and cardigans in a number of shapes and a generous range of sizes. As in her earlier books, Herzog brings extensive knowledge of sweater construction to her designs, providing detailed instructions and handy hints in each of the book's 24 patterns. The introductory material covers sweater-knitting basics, including tips for knitting and measuring gauge swatches, suggestions for sizing and modifying patterns, and techniques for seaming and finishing knits. VERDICT Herzog's expertise, combined with her ability to explain clearly the hows and whys of sweater knitting, will build confidence even in the most reluctant knitters.
