In Master of Iron, the conclusion to #1 New York Times-bestselling author Tricia Levenseller's exciting and romantic Bladesmith duology, a magically gifted blacksmith must race against the clock to save her beloved sister and stop a devastating war.
Eighteen-year-old Ziva may have defeated a deadly warlord, but the price was almost too much. Ziva is forced into a breakneck race to a nearby city with the handsome mercenary, Kellyn, and the young scholar, Petrik, to find a powerful magical healer who can save her sister's life.
When the events that follow lead to Ziva and Kellyn's capture by an ambitious prince, Ziva is forced into the very situation she's been dreading: magicking dangerous weapons meant for world domination.
The forge has always been Ziva's safe space, a place to avoid society and the anxiety it causes her, but now it is her prison, and she's not sure just how much of herself she'll have to sacrifice to save Kellyn and take center stage in the very war she's been trying to stop.
Praise for the Bladesmith Duology:

"An addictive page-turner. Loaded with action, betrayal, slow-burn romance—honestly, that is the best first kiss scene ever... Be prepared to laugh, cry, and gasp." — Mary E. Pearson, the New York Times-bestselling author of The Remnant Chronicles on Blade of Secrets
"Levenseller elevates her already intriguing fantasy world through her depiction of Ziva, whose anxiety will ring true for anyone who's ever had a panic attack. Grab this and devour it." — Booklist on Blade of Secrets, starred review
"Blade of Secrets is an impactful, eye-opening journey of social anxiety that is flawlessly blended with Levenseller's signature flair for adventure and romance." —Bookstagram sensation Bridget Howard, @darkfaerietales_, on Blade of Secrets

Grades 9-12 Weaponsmith Ziva now has a captured warlord as a bargaining chip, and along with her sister, Temra, and their companions Petrik and Kellyn, she is ready to make her way to Prince Skiro to ask for protection and healing. Temra has been near-fatally injured, and Skiro's magical healer is her only hope. But the quartet encounters complications: the Prince is Petrik's half-brother, and his healer, Serutha, has been kidnapped by a rival prince. Ziva, willing to do anything to save her sister, is more than ready to travel to the rival's territory and search every inch. When Kellyn and Ziva are captured during the rescue attempt, the smith is again put into a precarious position: make magical weapons for fearsome Prince Ravis or see Kellyn, whom she has confusing feelings about, be killed, piece by piece. Levenseller has forged another winner in this sequel to Blade of Secrets (2021). Consistently characterized, Ziva and her friends feel real and well thought out. Ziva's anxiety and overwhelming feelings in the face of terrifying events will speak to readers.

Gr 9 Up-Ziva, an anxious blacksmith who creates magic weapons, has captured a warlord at a terrible cost. Desperate to save her sister, Ziva is on the trail of a magical healer who has been kidnapped by a rival prince. When Ziva and her love interest get captured, she's forced once again to make magic weapons or see Kellyn tortured to death. In Blade of Secrets the forge was where Ziva was safe before her adventure, but in Master of Iron it imprisons her as the very war she was trying to avoid comes to a head. Readers who signed up for adventure may be let down by the politics that slow the story's pacing. VERDICT Levenseller neatly wraps up the political and romantic plots of her duology; recommended as an additional purchase.
