New York City meets smalltown Georgia head-on in Bond’s third Southern Roads contemporary (after Baby, Drive South and Baby, Come Home). Manhattanite Alicia Randall assumes the alias Alicia Waters when she invades the aw-shucks mountaintop town of Sweetness to gather material for her column in Feminine Power magazine. She’s certain there is something sinister about a town run by three brothers who have advertised for women interested in making a fresh start. The ad made perfect sense to two of the Armstrong brothers, who figured the women could help rebuild and repopulate tornado-leveled Sweetness. Eldest brother Marcus is still skeptical—until he lays eyes on Alicia. Motivated by a chance to syndicate her blog, Alicia is determined to bed the recalcitrant Marcus and expose Sweetness’s dirtiest secrets... except there aren’t any.
