Eric Larson is used to his busy life in Seattle when he is enticed to spend the summer in a small Montana town running a branch of his uncle's business, with the hope that success will lead to a job at a much larger branch in Seattle. While learning the ropes of the town, Eric inadvertently causes an accident for his neighbor Eunice, and although they don't get off on the right foot, Eric and Eunice strike a deal that he will drive her on errands as a way to make amends for the damage he caused. Soon, however, Eric realizes that these appointments are actually a bucket list, as Eunice has recently been given a terminal diagnosis. As Eric begins to help Eunice work through her checklist of people she is asking for forgiveness from, Eric learns from her and begins to change himself. This contemporary-fiction novel has themes of redemption and forgiveness and hints of Christianity and is a good choice for those looking for an inspirational story with small-town heart.
